Make yours

   Start from the template

   Sign in to Layrs with Twitch or Kick, click New scene (on a new account: Start from a scene template on Home) and pick Starting Soon, then Use template. It comes with a big title, a countdown that says Stream starts in, a line under it, alerts and a live chat panel.

   Make the words yours

   Double-click the title or the line under the countdown on the canvas to type your own.

   Set the countdown

   Select the countdown and open Advanced. It runs for Minutes (10 to start with). To end at a set date and time instead, pick Countdown to a time under Mode and set Ends at.

   Your own background, if you like

   Click Add widget, then Upload image, GIF or video (a 1920 × 1080 image fills the screen). Then in Layers, drag it down to just above Background, so the title and chat stay on top.

Add it to OBS

   Copy the link

   In Layrs, click Add to OBS at the top and copy the URL.

   Make a scene in OBS

   Click + under Scenes and call it Starting Soon.

   Add the Browser source

   In that scene, click + under Sources and pick Browser. Paste the link into URL, set Width and Height to 1920 and 1080, then OK.

Start the countdown when you go live

Go live on the Starting Soon scene, then press Start countdown in Controls on the right in Layrs. It counts down in OBS right away and says Starting now! at zero. Press Restart countdown to start over. Moderators on your Layrs team can press it too: in their Live mode, open Controls at the bottom of the right panel, and it’s under the countdown’s name.

With Countdown to a time there’s nothing to press: it ends at the date and time you set, so set the next one before each stream.

What’s on it

• Live chat: your Twitch chat, and Kick chat too once you link Kick. Streaming to both at once? Read Twitch’s combined chat rule first.
• Alerts: follows, subs and bits that come in while you wait play on the screen (and Kick’s, once you link Kick). Twitch’s need Twitch events on, which your Layrs home shows. Tests never count toward anything.
• Music: Layrs has no music library. Add your own in OBS with a Media Source in the same scene.
