Sub, follower and donation goals for OBS
To add a goal to OBS with Layrs, make a goal source, pick what it counts (subs, follows, bits and KICKs, or tips), and paste its link into a Browser source. One goal bar counts Twitch and Kick together, and your mods can change the target from chat.

Add a goal to OBS
Make a goal
Sign in to Layrs with Twitch or Kick, click New source (on a brand-new channel, Browse all sources) and pick Sub goal.
Pick what it counts
Type “Counts” into Search settings on the goal’s page. Under Counts, keep Sub points (like Twitch) for a sub goal, or pick Follows this stream, Bits this stream or Tips this stream (money). Then set the Title and the Target.
Copy the link
In the strip under the preview, click Copy URL, or use Drag into OBS.
Add it as a Browser source
In OBS, click + under Sources, pick Browser, paste the link into URL and set it to 600 × 110.
Already partway there? Set Start at to where you are: a goal that starts at 40 shows 43 after three new subs.
Want a bits goal? New source has a Bits goal too, a pill-shaped bar with a first target of 5,000 bits and a reward line near the end.
What each goal counts on Twitch and Kick
| Counts | On Twitch | On Kick |
|---|---|---|
| Sub points (like Twitch) | Prime and Tier 1 count 1, Tier 2 counts 2, Tier 3 counts 6, for subs, resubs and each gifted sub | Each sub, resub and gifted sub counts 1 (Kick has one tier) |
| Subs this stream | Each sub, resub and gifted sub counts 1, whatever the tier | The same |
| Follows this stream | Each follow counts 1 | The same |
| Bits this stream | Each bit counts 1: a 500 bit cheer adds 500 | KICKs count like bits: 100 KICKs add 100 |
| Tips this stream (money) | The amount of each tip from your Layrs tip page: a €5 tip adds 5 | The same |
| Manual | Only what you or your mods set by hand | The same |
Raids and channel point redemptions don’t fill a goal. With Twitch and Kick both linked, one goal counts both at once.
Daily and per-stream goals
“This stream” means since the last Reset session. Layrs never resets a goal by itself: not at midnight, not when you go live.
For a daily sub goal, press Reset session when you start. On the goal’s own page it’s under Live controls, in the strip below the preview (Live on a phone; a Moderator’s page opens with these controls), next to this stream’s real count. In a scene it’s in the Controls tab. Subs, bits, follows and tips count from zero again, and so do that source’s or scene’s recent events and leaderboards. Moderators can press it too.
Each source and scene counts on its own, so reset the one that’s in OBS. For a goal that runs across streams, like a monthly sub goal, don’t reset it: set Start at to your total so far.
The count is kept on Layrs’ server, not in OBS. With OBS closed, or the source shut down while its scene is hidden, real events still count for up to 25 sources or scenes per Layrs channel used in the last 30 days.
When the goal is reached
- Step up raises the target by a percent or an amount, and extra progress carries over. The Sub goal source has a first target of 10 and steps up 25% each time.
- Goal list walks through up to 20 targets, each with its own reward, one after another.
- Keep counting fills the bar once and shows your reached text (“Goal reached!” until you change it).
Turn on “X more for…” and the bar says “3 subs more for Viewer games” once it’s 80% full. Celebrate throws confetti for 5 seconds when a target is reached.
Your mods change the goal from Layrs or from chat
Anyone with the Moderator role can change a goal’s target, reward and title in Live controls on the goal’s page, in their own browser, and the current number of a manual goal. Or they type it in Twitch or Kick chat:
| Type in chat | What happens |
|---|---|
;subgoal 75 | Sets your sub goal’s target to 75. ;sub goal 75 works too |
;follower goal 500 | Sets the target of a goal titled “Follower goal” to 500 |
;pushups +10 | Adds 10 to a manual goal titled “Pushup goal” |
;pushup goal 150 | Sets that manual goal’s target to 150 |
;undo | Takes back your own last change |
A command names the goal by its title. The streamer and the channel’s mods can use them, and they reach a closed source if it was on stream in the last 24 hours. A goal that counts subs, bits, follows or tips counts itself, so chat can’t change its progress, and a Goal list keeps to its list. Every chat command.
Test events never move a goal
On the goal’s page, click Test above the preview and pick a Sub, Follow, Bits or a Tip: it plays here and in OBS, and never counts. In a scene, the same tests are in Controls under Test (never counts). Tests never change goals, the subathon timer or leaderboards, so try them as often as you like. A goal only moves with real events.
Why is my follower goal not updating?
- Twitch events are off. Follows need the streamer’s own Twitch login. On your Layrs home, Twitch events should say On or Ready. If not, the streamer sees a Connect or Reconnect button there, and mods see Off, Expired or Error.
- Kick isn’t linked. Kick follows, subs and KICKs need Kick connected: sign in with Kick, or click Connect Kick in Settings under Connected platforms.
- It counts something else. Check Counts: a sub goal counts subs, not follows. Pick Follows this stream.
- It’s a manual goal. Manual never counts by itself. Pick what it should count instead.
- It was reset. Reset session puts that source’s or scene’s count back to zero. Put earlier follows back with Start at.
- OBS has another link. Each source and scene counts on its own. Copy the URL of the goal you’re watching and paste that into OBS.
- It was a test. Test follows play the alert but never count.
A donation goal from your tip page
A donation goal counts Tips this stream (money): the amount of each tip from your Layrs tip page, on Twitch and Kick alike. Bits and KICKs count toward a bits goal instead. The bar shows plain numbers, so put the currency in the title, like “Tip goal (€)”.
A tip counts once Stripe or PayPal confirmed it’s paid. A tip held for review (a big one, or one with words you block) counts when you or a mod put it on stream.
The money goes straight to your own Stripe or PayPal account: Layrs never holds it. Layrs keeps 3% of Stripe tips, PayPal tips have no Layrs fee, and Stripe and PayPal charge their own fees. If tips go to your mods, they count toward the goal too: each one goes whole to that mod’s own account, with no Layrs fee. Design a tip page first, no account needed, or read how to take donations on Kick.
Sub goal ideas
- Name the reward. “3 subs more for Viewer games” gives chat a reason to sub now. Put it in Reward.
- Stack rewards. A Goal list like the one a new goal starts with: viewer games at 10, a spicy wings challenge at 25, a 24 hour stream at 50.
- Pick a target you can reach. Then let Step up raise it, so the bar keeps moving.
- Add time too. Pair the goal with a subathon timer, so every sub also adds time.
