How to add Kick alerts to OBS

To add Kick alerts to OBS, make an alert box in Layrs with your Kick account and paste its link into OBS as a Browser source. Follows, subs, gifted subs and KICKs then play with a sound, and no bot has to be a mod in your chat.

Add Kick alerts to OBS step by step

  1. Sign in with Kick

On layrs.tv, click Sign in with Kick. Already on Layrs with Twitch? Click your name at the bottom left and pick Settings, then under Connected platforms click Connect Kick.

  2. Make an alert box

Click New source (on a brand-new channel, Browse all sources) and pick Alerts.

  3. Copy the link

Under the preview, click Copy URL. With OBS on the same computer, you can use Drag into OBS instead.

  4. Click + under Sources

In OBS, pick the scene you stream from and click + at the bottom of the Sources list.

  5. Pick Browser

Not Window Capture: alerts need a Browser source. Name it Alerts and click OK.

  6. Paste the link and set the size

Paste it into URL. Set Width and Height to what Layrs shows (800 and 450 for a new alert box), then OK.

  7. Place it and lock it

Drag it where you want it, then click the padlock so it stays put. Layrs says In OBS as soon as it’s there.

The background is transparent, so your game shows through.

Which Kick events can alert

Layrs listens to the events on Kick’s own list (Kick: event types, checked 5 November 2026). Each one plays the matching alert:

Kick events and the alert each one plays, from Kick’s event list and Layrs’ code, checked 5 November 2026

Sounds, images and bigger alerts

  • A sound per alert: pick a built-in sound or upload your own, and set its volume.
  • An image: add yours, or leave it empty for an animated badge.
  • Bigger alerts: tiers by amount for resubs, gift subs and KICKs, each with its own message, sound, image and celebration. The highest tier reached plays.
  • KICKs and bits together: the Bits & KICKs alert has one Minimum bits / KICKs for both, about 1 KICK to 1 bit, and a Kick message of its own for KICKs.
  • A rare shimmer: now and then an alert gets a holographic shimmer and a special sound. Just for fun.

Read KICKs messages aloud

In the alert box, open Text to speech and switch on Read messages aloud. The message that comes with KICKs is then read after the alert sound, from 100 KICKs unless you change it. It uses a free Layrs voice, or a TTS.Monster voice with your own TTS.Monster key. To read channel point rewards with text too, switch on the Channel points alert and Channel points here (both start off). They play if Kick sends them to Layrs.

Test before you go live

On the alert box’s page, click Test and pick an event. It plays in the preview and in OBS, with Twitch’s wording.

For Kick’s wording, connect Kick first. Then the same Test menu also lists the tests As Kick sends them: Chat, Follow, Sub, Gift subs, KICKs and Channel points. Each plays in the preview and in OBS the way Kick sends it, with a Kick chatter and KICKs instead of bits. Moderators find them as a Kick row under the other tests, and in a scene they’re under Test (never counts) in Controls.

Tests are only for show: they never change goals, leaderboards, recent events or the subathon clock.

Kick and Twitch in one alert box

Stream on both? One alert box and one OBS link play Twitch and Kick alerts. KICKs read “500 KICKs” where bits read “500 bits”, and tips from your Layrs tip page play there too.

Why no bot has to be a mod

Layrs gets your events from Kick’s official API, with permission to read your profile, your channel and your stream events. As the Privacy Policy puts it: “Layrs can’t post in your chat as you or change your channel.”

Some tools work through a bot you make a mod. A guide to BotRix alerts says to add “botrixlive” as a moderator, and StreamElements’ Kick chatbot guide says to type /mod @StreamElements.

Layrs has a chat bot too, for commands and games, but alerts don’t need it.

Kick alerts not showing?

  • Nothing shows: check it’s a Browser source. A Window or Display Capture of a Layrs tab won’t connect.
  • Still nothing: copy the link again and paste over what’s there. Made new URLs? The old one stopped working.
  • Is it switched on? The eye next to it should be open, and it should be in the scene you’re looking at.
  • Refresh it: double-click the source and click Refresh cache of current page.
  • Tests play, but real Kick events don’t: click your name at the bottom left, pick Settings and check Connected platforms shows your Kick account. Connect it again if it’s missing.
  • No channel point alerts: they’re off by default, so open the alert box’s Channel points section and switch on Enabled. They play if Kick sends them to Layrs.

Kick alert tools compared

Each column comes from that tool’s own pages: BotRix, KickBot’s alerts page, and StreamElements with its Kick chatbot guide. BotRix’s moderator row comes from a guide. Where a page doesn’t say, the table says so. All checked 5 November 2026.
