How to set up donations on Twitch
To take donations on Twitch, make a tip page that pays straight into your own Stripe or PayPal account, link it from a panel and a !tip command, and show each tip on stream as an alert. You don’t need to be a Twitch Affiliate.

Bits and subs are not donations
Twitch’s own ways to support you are Bits and subs. Twitch pays them out only to Affiliates and Partners: its Monetized Streamer Agreement gives a fee for Bits viewers cheer in your channel and a share of paid and gifted subs (checked 5 November 2026).
Bits aren’t money either. Twitch’s Bits Acceptable Use Policy says “Bits are not a currency or money instrument”, and it forbids asking for money or donations in exchange for Bits. So keep the two apart: a donation in euros, dollars or kroner happens off Twitch, on a tip page.
A tip page that pays you directly
A Layrs tip page takes cards and wallets through your own Stripe account, or PayPal through your own PayPal. The money goes from the viewer straight to your account and on to your bank: Layrs never holds it. Layrs keeps 3% of Stripe tips. PayPal tips, and tips that go to your mods, have no Layrs fee. Stripe and PayPal charge their own fees.
Layrs connects Stripe accounts from 35 countries: the EU, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Somewhere else? Connect PayPal instead. Stripe’s sign-up lists your Twitch channel as where the tips come from.
Sign in with Twitch
On layrs.tv, click Sign in with Twitch.
Connect Stripe or PayPal
Open Donations and connect one: Stripe for cards and wallets, PayPal for PayPal. Layrs may ask you to sign in with Twitch again first, so someone who gets into your Layrs can’t send your tips elsewhere.
Make the page yours
Pick a theme, a banner and your links. Try the designer first, no account needed.
Copy your tip link
Under Share your tip link, copy your layrs.tv/tip/ link.
Add a donation panel to your Twitch channel
- Panel: add a panel to your channel’s About section with a picture or a few words that link to your layrs.tv/tip/ link. That panel is your donation button: viewers find it right under your stream.
- Chat: in Donations, click Add !tip to your chat bot. Once the Layrs chat bot is on, it answers
!tipwith “Tip the stream:” and your link.
Show donation alerts on stream
- Alerts: every Layrs alert box plays tips from your tip page with the viewer’s name, amount and message, and can read the message aloud. Bits, subs and follows play in the same alert box.
- Goal: a Goal that counts Tips this stream (money) fills with each tip.
- Subathon: the subathon timer adds time per €1, $1 or 1 kr of a tip (30 s until you change it).
- Leaderboard: a Leaderboard of your top Tippers.
A tip shows only after Stripe or PayPal confirmed it’s paid. Big tips, and tips with words you block, wait for your OK or a mod’s first. Click Send a test tip in Donations to see it in OBS: tests never count toward goals or the subathon.
Streaming on Kick too? The same tip page works there: see How to take donations on Kick.
