Layrs

A StreamElements alternative that brings your widgets along

Layrs is a free overlay editor for Twitch and Kick that runs in your browser. You build overlays alone or with your mods and paste one link into OBS. Here’s an honest look at what moving over means.

What changed at StreamElements

Razer bought StreamElements’ assets on July 31, 2026, and StreamElements keeps running as its own platform (Acquisition FAQ).

What does end is SE.Pay, its legacy tipping. It can no longer receive tips and shuts down on December 31, 2026. Card tips on StreamElements now go through your own Stripe account, and PayPal tips carry on (SE.Pay and Stripe FAQ).

Bring your custom widgets

Got custom widgets on StreamElements? Click Import on Home and drop the .zip or JSON, or paste the code, then keep editing them in Layrs. {{field}} placeholders, onWidgetLoad, onEventReceived and your fields come along, and tips from your Layrs tip page reach them too. Imported code runs in a sandbox, away from your account.

What doesn’t come over: StreamElements’ built-in alert box and goals (start from Layrs’ own, they look finished the moment you add them), the shared alert queue (every widget gets events right away) and bot counters (SE_API.counters reads 0). Merch and store events don’t exist on Layrs, and the importer tells you when a widget relies on them. What works when you import.

Tips after SE.Pay

Layrs tips go straight to your own Stripe or PayPal account, and on to your bank. Layrs never holds your money. On Stripe tips Layrs keeps 3%; PayPal tips have no Layrs fee. Stripe and PayPal charge their own fees.

Design a tip page right now, no account needed.

FAQ

Is StreamElements shutting down?

No. StreamElements keeps running under Razer. SE.Pay, its legacy tipping, ends on December 31, 2026.

Can I keep my alerts?

Custom code alerts, yes: import them. StreamElements’ built-in alerts don’t import. Layrs’ alert box covers follows, subs, gifts, bits, tips, raids and channel points, with a sound for each.

Is Layrs free?

Yes. The one fee is 3% on tips paid through Stripe. PayPal tips have no Layrs fee.

Do my mods need an account?

They sign in with their own Twitch or Kick account. You invite them by name or with a link, and pick what each one can do.

Does Layrs work with Kick?

Yes. Kick follows, subs, gifted subs and KICKs drive your alerts, goals and subathon timer, Kick chat shows in the chat overlay, and the chat bot answers commands there too. 7TV emotes, channel points and the bot’s points and games are Twitch only.
